VULTR offer KVM cloud instances with SSD storage (like DigitalOcean), so you only get some cloud features like hourly billing, quick deployment, many locations etc.

VULTR similar plans like DigitalOcean, but they have increased their smallest plan from 512 MB RAM to 768 MB of RAM, a 50% increase for the same price as DO charge.

They also charge $3/mo less for the 1 GB plan, and $5/mo less for their 2 GB plan.

280914vultr1

vultr170114

As you can see VULTR now has 14 locations online, thats three times more locations then DigtalOcean has.

VULTR guarantee more then 3 GHz CPUs on all their plans (except their storage plans in NY), so you get fast CPU power on all servers. They offer SSD storage as standard and you get speeds like 3-460 MB/s.

You deploy new servers within minutes depending on what location you are deploying in. It’s really simple as you can see in the picture over, you only select locations, package, and OS, then your server is online. You can use their  OS templates, your own .iso files, backups etc, when you create your instance.

They have also launched there Multi core series with 8, 12, 16 and 24 cores and on my Benchmark test on their 8 core server (the 24 core was not online) I got a result of 5918.9, thats insane high. (see my Top20 list) and I have also benchmarked their 16 core server, with a result at 7698.3, the highest result ever tested here at reviews.myhken.com

Service/Support

Their service is still pretty good. And their support pretty fast.

Since I have been a BETA tester for several of the new features, I have had lots of contact with their support staff, and it’s seems like they have several support staff working for them, and they seems pretty knowledgeable.

Benchmark

Their new multi core series taking my top 1 and top 2 spot om my Top20 list.

Their 16 core multi core series with 48 GB RAM: (7698.3 points)

290914vultr2

Here is their 24 core server, with a insane result of 9600 points in UnixBench

061214vultr9600

And their normal (performance series) 2 core 2 GB RAM server, you get lots for your money here.

280914vultr3

Network/uptime

Vultr has good speeds on their servers, and now they have finally fixed the network speed in the Netherlands, so you get 1 Gbit there also.

Few issues with Vultr.com Network the last months has left my servers with a uptime of: (total for the entire time I have used them, and thees two servers has been online the whole time)

99.971% on my Amsterdam server (11 months)
99.980% on my France server (11 months)

Conclusion

If you need a host that can offers lots of locations, rapid deployment, insane fast servers, own .iso files, backups, templates, IPv6, Private Network and hourly billing ++++, take a look at [VULTR.com](http://www.vultr.com/?ref=6802732). They have kept their promise to add lots more features and locations, and they still have more to come. Their servers and networks works really good, with fast servers, and high uptime.

Giving VULTR 9 of 10 points this time also. They are getting better and better, and I’m looking forward to see how good they will be in the future.

And again, happy one year birthday (soon) and I’m looking forward to a second year with you.

Benchmark of Vultr.com – Multi-core server with 24 cores

Did a benhmark on Vultr multi-core serie and their 24 core 64 GB RAM server, and the result was the highest I ever have seen. 9600.2 points in UnixBench.

Use my aff. link: http://www.vultr.com/?ref=6802732 if you want to try out Vultr.com and they offer $5 in free credit for all new customers.

061214vultr9600

061214vultr9600b

Of course, this server is not cheap, $600/mo, but at Vultr.com you can rent it by the hour, and it cos $0.90 per hour. So if you need some serious CPU power for some time, but less then a month, this might be the right thing for you.

So they now hold the first and second place on my Top20 list.

Use my aff. link http://www.vultr.com/?ref=6802732 if you want to sign up. They offer a $5 free signup bonus for all new customers.

90 day review of VULTR.com

260214vultr000

VULTR.com is not very old, but I have been with them since they soft launched their service, and I have to say that they just get better and better for each week. I have now been with them for over 90 days, and here is my updated review of them.

Product/hardware/price

260214vultr007

VULTR offer “fake” KVM cloud instances with SSD storage (like DigitalOcean), so you only get some cloud features like hourly billing, quick deployment, many locations etc. Since my last review they have added features such as, Custom ISO files, Multiple IPs (max two extra IPs per server) and snapshot feature.

Vultr has good speeds on their servers, except on their Netherlands node there they have reduced speed to just 100 mbit. They have promised to increase the speed again, but the time has come and gone, and no ETA on when they will increase it again.

Network/uptime

There was a network issue on my France server some days ago. I had 100% uptime last 80 days or so, but now the uptime is 99.941% on that server.

On my Netherlands node, that is around 90 days old, I have 100% uptime. And on my London server, I have 100% uptime.

Giving VULTR 8 of 10 points, since they are not offering all features and locations just now. Looking forward to seeing them getting better and better.

60 days review of INIZ.com

inizlogo1

I have used INIZ for 60 days now, after I got a good deal on LEB. My first plan was to use the server for my DNS failover service, but I later on decided that I would only use one host for that, reducing the number of hosts and servers I use. So I paid for a year. 😀

Product/hardware/price

INIZ provides unmanaged service in three locations: Los Angeles, New York and Amsterdam, Netherlands. They offer OpenVZ plans, pure SSD plans and KVM plans. They have plans from $4.93/mo (256 MB) to $19.72/mo (2 GB)

I’m using a LEB special and have a OpenVZ, 4vCores (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2650 0 @ 2.00GHz), 2 GB RAM, 100 GB disk, 2 TB bw plan that I’m paying $46.50/year for ($3.85/mo). I’m using their Netherlands node.

Their prices is not very low, almost $15/mo for a 1 GB OpenVZ server with no SSD is actually some expensive. But, INIZ is a active member on LEB, and often has very good offers, like what I’m using. So always take a look at LEB and the VPS offer section of WHT before you order from them.

I have seen some high load on the node from time to time, but I’m sure INIZ has it all under control, since the load is not seen for any long time.

010214iniz5

Service/Support

Not much to say about their support, have not tried it all the last 60 days. But since they made it to place number 3 on the Q4-2013 (and Q3-2013) poll on LEB, and they must have a good support team.

I have not used the server for any live site. I used it for a month or so as a backup server on my DNS failover service. So I replicated my sites every hour to my INIZ server.

Benchmark:

010214iniz2

010214iniz4

My plan is “only” a RAID-10 plan, but I get some good disk speeds here. I must say that I have also seen speeds down to 250 MB/s, but I get speeds over 500 MB/s most of the time.

Network/uptime

My monitoring services tells me that I have a 99.949% uptime the last 2 months with 1 minute monitors.

010214iniz3

Conclusion

INIZ.com is a good provider with good hardware and network, with great offers from time to time. I have got really much value for my money with them. They do not have much downtime and they are holding their promise of 99.9% uptime.

I have changed my rating system, and INIZ gets 8 of 10 points in this review.

30 day review – TMZvps.com

Here is my 30 day review of my VM-1024 plan at Tmzvps.com

Product/hardware/price

tmzvps.com has five standard fully managed VPS plans, from 512 MB RAM to 2.5 GB RAM. I used their VM-1024 plan with 1 GB of RAM for my test period. They offer only OpenVZ plan just now, but they have announced that they will start offering KVM servers soon. They are using RAID10 disk setup with really good disk speeds. I got 314 MB/s on my DD test.

I tested their L.A node, and I did get a UnixBench score of 1454. It’s not a very high results, but it’s not a very low score either.

Their price is in the higher range for most of my VPS servers. Around $36/mo for my 1 GB plan. For that price I got 1 GB of RAM, 40 GB HDD, 1500 GB BW and 1 x 2.26 Ghz CPU core. It’s also include a Cpanel license.

Service/Support

tmzvps.com offer fully managed servers (you can get unmanaged also). In their price you get Cpanel/WHM also, and you have to have a control panel if you want their fully managed service.

I did only open one ticket in the period I used their service, and they used 49 minutes to reply on my ticket. That not fast for a fully managed host. Still, since I only opened one ticket, I can’t say what their average support time is.

One good thing is that TmzVPS (user TMZHosting) is very active on Webhostingtalk.com, so if you have any issue, I’m sure you can get a reply there. But it’s of course not their official support channel.

Network/uptime

My server was up 100% in the time I used it, with 1 minutes monitor service from several location. I have not seen any other problems with their network speeds or other.

Benchmark

Read the latest benchmark of my VPS at TmzVPS.com here…

Conclusion

If you need a fully managed server in US or in UK with Cpanel and OpenVZ technology, Tmzvps.com can be the right host for you. They are highly recommended at Webhostingtalk.com and if you search their offer section, you may find a good offer also.

They do not have the fastest servers I have tested, but still, solid servers backed up with a solid network.

Benchmark – WireNine.com – Lvl20 plan

Here is my benchmark test of my LVL20 plan at Wirenine.com. They have a 99% off coupon on WHT for the moment, and I did go for the highest plan, priced to $120/mo, and got it for $1.20.
